Made with mudcloth, camel leather, and wooden handles. Mudcloth is a labor-intensive material with roots in Mali, West Africa. Organic dyes from the earth are used to create beautiful designs. The cotton strips are handwoven and sewn together.
The wooden Sankofa handles are carved. Sankofa is an Adinkra symbol with origins in Ghana. Sankofa means go back and get it. Other meanings: return to your roots or learn from the past.
