About Us

Ronny G Designs has been in the making since 2017.  My passion to create has existed since childhood, but I abandoned my dreams after constantly hearing from others "you can't survive off of art...you'll be a starving artist".  I ended up studying Sociology in college and took several art classes along the way.  Thankfully, none of my studies have gone to waste.

In English class, I remember reading a poem written in 1951 by Langston Hughes called "Harlem [2]":

What happens to a dream deferred?
Does it dry up like a raisin in the sun?
Or fester like a sore-
And then run?
Does it stink like rotten meat?
Or crust and sugar over-
like a syrupy sweet?
Maybe it just sags like a heavy load.
Or does it explode?

In this life, there are obstacles, setbacks, disappointments, mistakes, and failures along the way, but we must never let our dreams "dry up like a raisin in the sun".

My journey has been out of the ordinary, and things didn't always go my way, but I'm grateful for the opportunity to be artistic and creative in my own unique way.  I'm inspired by the creativity of other artisans, particularly those from Africa and Central America.  When I travel, I immediately look for a craft market.  It amazes me to see how people all over the world use things you would never imagine to create spectacular functional and aesthetic works of art.

There's truly something very special about receiving a gift that is handmade. My products are colorful, with diverse patterns and textures.  You will find that many of my pieces, specifically the earrings, are made with niobium hooks.  Niobium is an inert element that is nickel, lead, and cadmium free.  People with metal allergies can safely wear them.  They are  tarnish resistant as well.  Some items in my collection can be recreated while others are one-of-a-kind.  This all depends on the availability of the materials involved in producing them. Since my products are hand crafted, please keep in mind that no two items are exactly the same.

To all of you who value my talent, thank you! To all of you who planted seeds of encouragement, thank you! To those of you who pushed me to stop procrastinating, thank you!  Thank you to my college classmates at Wesleyan University who gave me the nickname "Ronny" back in the day.  It truly came in hand.  Most importantly, I thank God for giving me creative ideas and this opportunity to share my love of handmade products with you.

I appreciate that you are a part of my dream and I hope you enjoy my products.  I'm grateful that my dream did not "dry up like a raisin in the sun".

In the midst of everything that is going on today, please remember to inspire one another.

Sincerely,

"Ronny"
